Slow-Cooker Whole Chicken with Veggies

5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Whole Chicken with Veggies | Roxy's Kitchen #fiveingredientsrecipe #5licious #chicken #dinner #crockpot #slowcooker #veggies This Slow-Cooker Whole Chicken with Veggies is the easiest and healthiest meal you can make. You only need 5 main ingredients (salt, pepper & essential spices do not count) and it takes minutes to put together in the slow cooker. A few hours later you’ll have a tender and succulent chicken with a delicious garlicky and mild paprika flavour… I’m telling you this recipe is to die for!  But, I must admit, using organic chicken and produce makes a huge difference when it comes to taste! Most of my life I’ve had organic meat & vegetables from my grandparents’ farm… 10 years ago “organic”, “free-range”, “hormone free”, “GMO” weren’t even in my vocabulary, literally! Well things changed a bit when we moved to Canada! Our focus shifted more around adjusting to a new life, working two part time jobs to help pay for day-to-day living costs while working hard to complete our university degrees. You don’t want to know how much you have to pay in tuition fees as an international student – failing courses wasn’t an option for either one of us! When it came to our food choices, the closest grocery store on our way down from school or work was our best bet and that didn’t happen to have many “organic” options… not that I was looking for organic food! Remember?! I didn’t even have that word in my vocabulary! We did start eating healthier once we finished school but it wasn’t until recently that we actually changed our eating habits to include mostly organic food. I guess having a child makes you think more about the food choices you’re making for your family! And honestly, there is nothing better that organic, tasty homegrown produce and meat! Enough with the stories though, let’s get back to our recipe!

Did you mean to say 4 hours on low or 8 hours on high? That seems counterintuitive. I would imagine it’s 8 hours on low and 4 hours on high?

For sure, 4 hours on high and 8 hours on low, my mistake! I’ve corrected it, thanks for letting me know :) !
