My Favourite Kitchen Appliances

Kitchen Aid Stand MixerKitchen Aid Stand Mixer

I use my mixer all the time for making cakes, frosting, fillings and any type of dough.

I usually puree soups and mash potatoes (or any other veggies) but my last discovery is making mayonnaise in just a few minutes with this. Here’s the recipe: 1 egg yolk,  1 Tbsp lemon juice, 1 Tbsp mustard, 1 1/3 cups sunflower oil, a pinch of salt. Add everything at once in a tall container and start mixing with the blender; just hold the blender in one place, touching the bottom of the container and start lifting it a little at a time.

I grew up with homemade pasta and noodles, they’re so much better than the store-bought stuff!  I’ve used a regular pasta machine in the past (well, my mom’s) but now I own the Kitchen Aid pasta attachment and love it since you can make pasta so much faster. I love using this to roll out fondant too!!!

This must be one of the most used appliances in our home. I use it weekly to chop, puree or slice about anything and everything in no time.

I have a almost 5yr old granddaughter and we cook together all the time. My question is, I was wondering if you had a book with all the fun food crafts instead of online that I could purchase from you? It would be more helpful to use instead of having to look at the computer when making these wonderful crafts.

    Thank you

Hi Denise, Thanks for stopping by, I’m happy you like my recipes. Unfortunately I don’t have a book for now but I will be publishing my first e-book soon which will be in a PDF format so that you can easily download it and print the sections you are interested in. This e-book is a very detailed tutorial with step-by-step instructions and hundreds of pictures that will teach you how to create a Beach Cake from scratch, including many fun fondant decorations.
I thought about writing an e-book with fun food crafts for kids but haven’t started working on this yet; but thanks for your feedback, I will take this into consideration when deciding the topic of my next e-book :).
